Last Wednesday our walls were completely empty, and I was sitting at the entrance with Laser, listening to his story.
He loved to paint but he had no technique. He applied to art schools but no one believed in him. So he taught himself to paint at home. He followed his dream without thinking about the opinion of others. “I had no idea what I was doing. I just kept on painting, following my instincts. I never expected that I would end up with this artistic concept”.
For the exhibition 'let me know the rules so I can ignore them', the artist brought his art and his poetry to Wieden+Kennedy exactly as he does on the street with a combination of framed prints, steel shields and handwork on wood panels.
The atmosphere was incredible and people with different styles and backgrounds brought their inspiration and influence to our office.
As always, we had drinks and snacks for the guests. Even though the sun was not shining that day, the garden was full of people enjoying the evening and Laser’s work. The exhibition was a great success!
